#MusicalNooners at the CBC Plaza (July 13-17)
CBC Vancouver has released the acts performing this week for their #MusicalNooners series.
All concerts start at noon and run til 1pm on the CBC Plaza at 700 Hamilton Street. Here's what you can expect:
Monday, July 13 - Little India
This young Vancouver band has been hitting some of the biggest festival stages in town and winning enormous online audiences in the UK with their tuneful and energetic music. Don't miss their fresh, upbeat show!
Tuesday, July 14 - Paul Pigat
Jaw dropping guitar chops and great singing define this creative force behind Cousin Harley and Boxcar Campfire. Paul brings bass player Jeff Gammon and drummer Barry Mirochnick to the Nooners stage for some rockin' and swingin' good times.
Wednesday, July 15 - Mindil Beach
A skillful blending of rock, hip hop, funk and folk, Mindil Beach creates a sonic cocktail that is equal parts soul, adrenaline and swagger. Pump up your summer!
Thursday, July 16 - Les Poules à Colin (in partnership with the Vancouver Folk Music Festival)
Quebec enjoys a rich musical tradition and this band brings a lively fresh energy to the evolution of that tradition. Timeless and of our time - just what good folk music should be.
Friday, July 17 - Sousou & Maher Cissoko (in partnership with the Vancouver Folk Music Festival)
She's from Sweden; he's from Senegal. They met through music and became both musical and life partners. Their music is a fascinating blend of West African music, Swedish folk, reggae, soul and a pinch of hip hop.
