Next week (August 12), another cover night hits the Biltmore Cabaret, but this time it will feature the music of Phil Collins and support the wonderful #SingItFwd program.

Performances will feature members of Hey Ocean, Dear Rouge, Bend Sinister, Rococode, Twin Bandit, Star Captains as well as: Jordan Klassen, JP Maurice, Dominique Fricot, WILLA, and Tonye Aganaba.

I've compiled a playlist (above) of music by the artists, so you can start listening and think about which Phil Collins song you'd like to hear them sing.

And I've also done that myself (below), and asked Kirk and Jess for their ideal pairings as well.

Christine's Pick: "Easy Lover"

"Easy Lover" came out the same month that I was born, and it's a killer song, so that was an easy choice. Ali Milner (WILLA) and JP Maurice have done duets before and I love the way their voices mesh, so I think they could totally nail this one.

Kirk's Pick: "In The Air Tonight"

Who do I want to see play it? Which band performing has the best drummer? That aside, I would like to see Dominique Fricot do this song. He's always one of my favourite performers at the New Year's Eve cover spectacular One Night Stand, and I think he might just have the smouldering intensity to pull this off.

Jessica's Pick: "Strangers Like Me"

Like many other 90's babies, Phil Collins and Disney are a combo pack. The very sound of his voice evokes my childhood. Jordan Klassen has covered some other tunes that bring me back in time during other shows, and I'd like to see him do the same at the Philharmonic. Bonus fact - did you know that Phil Collins has been awarded Disney Legend status? Not to mention the Oscar and Golden Globe he won for this very ballad.
