Pemberton Festival - Photo Gallery & Recap
The Pemberton Music Festival happened last week and 3am Revelations was on site to capture some of the amazing performances over the course of the weekend.
First off, huge thanks to Acura Canada for the RDX (lovingly nicknamed "Dracura") for the weekend to get to and from the festival. There was tons of room for all my camping gear and photo equipment and I made a pitstop at Porteau Cove along the Sea To Sky Hwy to have some lunch in the sunshine. Photos of both are in the gallery above. For more info on the RDX click here.
If you were following our social media accounts you would have seen I attended everything from TJ Miller in the comedy tent to Ludacris (well, thousands of people away from the stage), but focused my photography on some of the local BC acts, and big Canadian bands.
Acts included Lovecoast, Gay Nineties, Sam Roberts Band, JPNSGRLS, Chromeo, Broken Social Scene, and Dan Mangan + Blacksmith.
The crowds were hot, sweaty, and enthusiastic at all of the sets, and the Canadians got a lot of love and support. Unfortunately Broken Social Scene was scheduled at the same time as Ludacris, which drew a lot of the crowds away from the amazing set of music, new and old, but the band still put on a great show.
Highlights of the rest of the festival were definitely in the Comedy Tent, with big name acts like Nick Offerman, and the live podcast taping for Doug Loves Movies. It's always nice to have a break from the clashing bass sounds of the main stages, and just laugh for a bit.
Other musical favourites included Father John Misty, July Talk, Weezer, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band all of whom got the crowds dancing. It was impossible to be everywhere at once, and I'm sure everyone had their favourite act for the weekend. What was yours? (Comment below.)
And finally, thank goodness for that water slide (and the "splash zone") as the heat was INTENSE all weekend.
